The museum is about a 10minute walk from Ebisu Station (JR / Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line).
If you prefer the bus, take the Toei Bus (Gaku-06) from Ebisu Station West Exit (Stop #1) bound for Japanese Red Cross Medical Center, get off at “Hiroo High School”, and walk just one minute.

From the moment you enter, the experience feels transformative. The staircase and wall leading down to the galleries are clad in Jurassic period marble, complete with hidden ammonite fossils. It’s like stepping into a time machine - an enchanting transition from everyday life into the world of art.

Inside the gallery, you encounter the subtle aesthetic that lives within Nihonga - Japanese painting shaped and refined through centuries of history, revealing a world of remarkable depth.

• Every Wednesday at 10 a.m. the museum offers a free gallery talk led by a curator, a popular experience for those who want to gain deeper insight into the artworks. Participation is limited to the first 25 guests, so arriving early is recommended.
