Inokashira Park Zoo Guide – Visit with The Tokyo Pass

ino_mv

Although located near the center of Tokyo, the Inokashira Park Zoo is surrounded by the natural beauty of Musashino while also offering access to the tranquil Inokashira Pond. Although not a big zoo, its picturesque location and flat terrain make it a perfect destination for everyone, from children to the elderly.

The Inokashira Park Zoo is home to 170 animal species. However, the Aquatic Life Park part of the zoo also houses a variety of freshwater creatures like fish, amphibians and aquatic insects. There is also a sculpture garden on the premises displaying about 200 works by Seibo Kitamura, one of the most famous sculptors in Japan, and the creator of the popular 10-meter-tall Peace Statue in Nagasaki Peace Park.

Conservation and breeding programs are some of the main goals of the Inokashira Park Zoo, with efforts focused on endangered Japanese species such as the Tsushima leopard cat, the Japanese fire belly newt, the Black-faced spoonbill and the Tokyo salamander. Come witness them yourself while enjoying beautiful nature sights in the heart of Tokyo.
